Romantic Movie Kisses

I love the movies. Plain and simple. I love the dark theater, the magic that unfolds, the actors…and the movie kisses. Over time there have been some very good ones that made my heart melt.

I think Clark Gable and Vivian Leigh in Gone With the Wind are at the top of my list.

But how about Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze in Ghost? Wow! So romantic it nearly scorched the screen. I loved, loved, loved that movie!

Then there was Leonardo and Kate in Titantic.

Glenn Ford and Rita Hayworth sure shared some great kisses. Oh my goodness!

For a tough cowboy, Dale Robertson sure got it right. I think he was trying to keep her from shooting him. I dare say he forgot all about that one little thing. Ha!

Gary Cooper and Loretta Young steamed up the screen too. Such love, such romance, such a kiss!

This is George Peppard and Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Oh man!

There isn’t a lot of kissing in westerns – they’re too busy shooting bad guys – but I like these of John Wayne.

Humphrey Bogard and Ingrid Bergman REALLY know how to do it in Casablanca!

Scott Eastwood has it down pat in The Longest Ride.

How about Ryan Gosling and Amy McAdams in The Notebook? Oh man! Sexy!

And for the last one, Richard Gere and Demi Moore in An Officer and a Gentleman.

I don’t know about you but I’m going to have sexy dreams tonight with all this kissing! But then, that’s what movies are for. Right? They sell a fantasy. Except sometimes we forget and get swept away.

What are your favorite movie kisses?

Romantic Movie Kisses — 8 Comments

  1. Oh my, such romantic kisses you pegged some great ones. I loved them all. Patrick Swazye and Jennifer Gray in Dirty Dancing and Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston in the Bodyguard are 2 that pop in my mind. I know after posting this many more will pop into my head. Lol!!! great topic Linda.

    • Good Morning, Tonya………Oh wow! I had forgotten about those in Dirty Dancing and Bodyguard is one of my very favorite movies. Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston really shared some steamy kisses! I adored them together. Such great chemistry that made the scenes that much deeper.

Glad you liked my post. You can’t go wrong with kisses!

      Love you, girl!

  2. Great visuals of what we try to put into words. I don’t know how long you have been gathering these images, but they are nice collection. I enjoyed the post.

    • Hi Zina, thank you for stopping by. I keep a file and often look at them when I’m writing an emotion-charged scene. Kinda puts me in the mood and also I look at where their hands are and what else is going on in the picture. A love scene is much, much more than kissing. I love when a man puts his big hands on a woman’s neck or below her jaw when he’s kissing her. Just seems so tender to me.

  3. The train station scene in the North and South mini-series with Richard Armitage – definitely a sweet, sigh-worthy kiss!

    • Hi Cheryl C…..Glad to see you. Love your addition to my kisses. I adore that scene in the train station. It’s achingly beautiful. Have a wonderful day, my friend!

  4. My favorite would have to be your first pick Gone With the Wind, loved that movie and book. I just recored An Officer and a Gentlemen to watch again, I haven’t seen it in a while.

    • Hi Quilt Lady….Lovely to see you. Thanks for coming. Yes, Clark Gable was such a sexy man and he projects all that and more in the kissing scenes with Scarlet. I think he must’ve been very romantic in real life. He certainly made me swoon and still does. I love An Officer and a Gentleman. A very good movie, but the one I want to watch again is Ghost. Patrick Swayze was such a romantic man and it translated so well onto the screen. Enjoy your movie, my friend.
